บางครั้งรันโปรแกรมเก่าใน Windows 7 หรือ Vista เบื่อใจมาก โปรแกรมเหล่านี้มักไม่เข้ากับ Windows ปัจจุบัน แต่น่าจะจำเป็นต่อการใช้งานประจำวัน ทำยังไงดี? โชคดีที่มี Program Compatibility Wizard ใน Windows 7/Vista ทำให้ OS ทำงานเหมือน Windows เวอร์ชันเก่า โปรแกรมเก่าจึงรันได้
ขั้นตอนรันโปรแกรมเก่าใน Windows 7/Vista:
- เปิด Control Panel จาก Start Menu
- คลิก Programs ด้านขวา
- เห็น Programs and features ใต้หัวข้อนี้ คลิก Use an older program with this version of windows
- Program Compatibility Wizard ปรากฏพร้อมข้อความเตือน
- คลิก Next ต่อ
สำหรับ Windows Vista
- 3 ตัวเลือก: รัน Wizard สำหรับโปรแกรมติดตั้งแล้วแต่รันไม่ได้ → เลือก I want to choose from a list of programs อีกตัวเลือก: เลือกตำแหน่ง Setup file ของแอปที่จะติดตั้งใน Vista
- เลือก OS ที่โปรแกรมเข้ากันได้ ผมเลือก Windows XP Service Pack 2
- หน้าต่างถัดไป: เปลี่ยน Display Settings สำหรับแอป (ถ้ามีปัญหาแสดงผล)
- หากโปรแกรมต้องการสิทธิ์ Admin ติ๊ก Run program as administrator คลิก Next
- Windows ตรวจสอบ Compatibility Settings เสร็จ จะแสดง UAC Prompt คลิก Allow
- หามีปัญหา Compatibility จะแสดง Error
- หากโอเค: กลับหน้า Wizard เลือก Yes, set this program to always use these compatibility settings คลิก Next → Finish
สำหรับ Windows 7
- จะรายการโปรแกรมติดตั้งทั้งหมด
- เลือกโปรแกรมที่ไม่เข้ากัน หากยังไม่ติดตั้ง (หรือติดตั้งไม่ได้) เลือก Not listed เลือก Setup file
- 2 ตัวเลือก: ทดสอบด้วย Recommended Settings และ Customize Settings หากมีปัญหา Display/Permissions เลือกตัวที่ 2
- เลือก Recommended: ระบบหา Settings ที่เหมาะสม เลือก Customize: ตั้งค่า Display/Permission เอง
- คลิก Start the program
- เสร็จแล้ว กลับ Wizard คลิก Next
- เลือก Yes, save this settings for this program
ตั้ง Compatibility Mode ได้อีกทาง: คลิกขวา Executable File
- คลิกขวา Executable → Properties
- แท็บ Compatibility
- ติ๊ก Run this program in compatibility mode for:
ตั้งค่าที่ต้องการ OK
โอกาสรันโปรแกรมเก่าใน Windows 7 สูงกว่า Vista แต่มั่นใจไม่ได้ว่าทุกซอฟต์แวร์จะทำงาน ควรติดต่อ Vendor ดูว่ามีเวอร์ชันใหม่หรือไม่
