NetBIOS over TCP/IP เป็น API สำรองเมื่อ DNS ไม่ทำงาน Windows ปิดค่าเริ่มต้นไว้แล้ว แต่หากต้องการตรวจสอบหรือเปิด/ปิดเอง ทำได้ดังนี้
เปิด/ปิด NetBIOS over TCP/IP บน Network Adapter
- เปิด Control Panel > Network and Sharing Center
- ซ้ายมือ คลิก Change adapter settings
- คลิกขวา Adapter ที่ใช้งาน (Ethernet/Wi-Fi) > Properties
- เลือก Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IPv4) > Properties
- คลิก Advanced > แท็บ WINS
- เลือก Disable NetBIOS over TCP/IP (หรือ Enable ตามต้องการ)
- OK ทุกหน้าต่าง
ไม่ต้องรีสตาร์ท เว้นแต่ Windows แจ้งให้
ปิด NetBIOS บน DHCP Server (สำหรับ Admin เครือข่าย)
- เปิด DHCP Console (Administrative Tools > DHCP)
- Expand Server > Scope > คลิกขวา Scope Options > Configure Options
- แท็บ Advanced > Vendor class เลือก Server Name Option
- User class เลือก Default User Class
- ติ๊ก 001 Microsoft Disable Netbios Option
- Data entry: Long box ใส่
