Credit: KolibriOS
Top — หรือพูดได้ว่า bottom — list นี้คือ KolibriOS fully graphical operating system ที่ fit บน single 1.44MB floppy disk image อ่านอีกครั้ง ผมไม่ได้พูด 144MB พูดถึง entire OS complete with desktop environment, text editor, image viewer, web browser, และเกมกว่า 30 เกม ในพื้นที่น้อยกว่า short email chain
NanoLinux (~14 MB)
Credit: DistroWatch.com
NanoLinux ครอง unique niche ใน Linux world อยู่เย็นๆ ใน featherweight territory ที่แค่ 14MB สร้างบน MicroCore Linux ด้วย BusyBox มัน swap conventional X.Org display server สำหรับ Nano-X ที่ leaner กว่า pairing กับ FLTK toolkit และ SLWM window manager เพื่อผลิต functional graphical desktop ด้วย minimal overhead

Experience the power of a lean, mean Linux machine that doesn't compromise on performance.
แม้ footprint เล็ก NanoLinux ส่งมอบพร้อม good collection of applications: Dillo web browser, FlWriter word processor, Sprsht spreadsheet, และ suite of utilities รวม paint program, file manager, และ IRC client มีเกมหน่อยอย่าง chess และ Sudoku เพราะมันรัน entirely from RAM คุณ boot จาก optical disc หรือ USB drive และ remove media ได้เมื่อ environment loaded แล้ว
Tiny Core Linux "Core" (~20 MB)
น้อยกว่า OS มากกว่า very firm starting point
Tiny Core Linux ครอง special place ใน minimalist computing world และ "Core" edition ไม่มี GUI หนักเพียง 20MB ใน current 17.0 release (ณ เวลาเขียน) เป็น purest expression ของ philosophy นั้น มักถูกเรียกว่า smallest Linux distro ever made มัน provide bare minimum ที่ต้องการ boot เข้า functional environment สิ่งที่ได้คือ modern Linux kernel (6.18 ใน latest build), root filesystem ใน core.gz, และ command-line environment สร้างรอบ BusyBox — ไม่มาก ไม่น้อย
Restraint นี้ intentional และ powerful Core ออกแบบเป็น foundation ที่คุณ build exactly the system you need Package manager จัดการ .tcz extensions loop-mounted without modifying root filesystem ดังนั้น base คง intact ขณะที่คุณ layer tools ที่ use case ต้องการพอดี เพราะระบบรันใน RAM by default มัน blindingly fast บน legacy hardware หรือ resource-constrained environments ที่ spare 46MB หรือมากกว่า
ถ้าคุณ seasoned Linux user ที่เคย願ว่าจะ assemble system จากศูนย์โดยไม่ carry someone else's assumptions along for the ride Core คือ blank canvas ของคุณ
SliTaz Linux (~55 MB)
สิ่งที่แท้จริง distinguish SliTaz คือ self-contained ecosystem มันใช้ custom package format .tazpkg และมี browser-based control center TazPanel ซึ่งทำให้ system configuration approachable สำหรับ distro ขนาดนี้ Official repository ใกล้ 5,000 packages และรองรับ FAT, NTFS, ext2/3/4, และ Btrfs file systems out of the box มันแม้ ship graphical installer ของตัวเอง ซึ่ง rank among fastest ที่คุณหาบน Linux platform ไหนก็ตาม
Slax Linux (~270–300 MB)
USB stick
Slax คือ largest entry บน list นี้ และ arguably most immediately usable out of the box มีทั้ง Debian- และ Slackware-based editions (ปัจจุบัน Slax 12.x และ Slax 15.x ตามลำดับ) ISO image อยู่ระหว่าง 270 ถึง 300MB — well under a third of a gigabyte สำหรับ complete, graphical, portable operating system

The Slax experience centers on portability and persistence Boot
Slax ตั้งชื่อว่า "your pocket operating system" และคำอธิบายนั้นถูกต้อง มัน practical สำหรับ technicians ที่ต้องการ reliable rescue environment flexible สำหรับ developers ที่อยาก clean testing ground และ approachable สำหรับใครก็ตามที่ curious เกี่ยวกับ lean Linux desktop
Size คือ choice แต OS เหล่านี้ทำ good one
ไม่ว่าคุณจะดึงดูดด้วย KolibriOS's floppy-disk wizardry หรือ Slax's pocket-sized practicality แต่ละ OS บอก encouraging story เดียวกัน: capable computing ไม่ต้องการ hundreds of gigabytes บางครั้ง most interesting thing ที่คุณรันบนเครื่องคือ smallest thing มันเคยเห็น
