Windows 10X Integrated Anti-theft
ตาม Bleeping Computer: Windows 10X (รุ่น Streamlined ของ Windows 10) จะมี Anti-theft feature ใหม่ ต้อง Sign in Microsoft Account ที่ลิงก์ไว้ ก่อนจะ Reset ระบบได้
ปัจจุบัน: ใครก็เข้าถึง Windows 10 ที่ Unlock อยู่ ได้ใช้ "Reset this PC" Wipe เครื่องทุกอย่าง โจรก็จะทำอย่างนี้ก่อนขาย
เงื่อนไข: ต้องเป็นเครื่องที่ Unlock อยู่แล้ว (ไม่มี Lock screen)
Windows 10X: ต้องใส่ PIN หรือ Microsoft Account Password ก่อน Reset หน้า Settings ของฟีเจอร์นี้ระบุ:
Anti-theft protection prevents someone else from resetting your device and re-using it. When anti-theft protection is on, you will need to enter your PIN or Microsoft account password before resetting and re-using this device.
ฟีเจอร์นี้ดี แต่วิธีการก็ไม่หยุดการขโมย และไม่หยุดการ Wipe ด้วย Third-party tools หรือ Linux distro เพราะ Physical access ชนะทุกอย่าง
อะไรใหม่กับ Windows 10X อีก?
Windows 10X จะเป็น OS ใหม่ของ Microsoft แบบ Lightweight, Modular โฟกัส Dual-screen devices (แต่รองรับ Single-screen ด้วย) เนื่องจาก Surface Neo ล่าช้า จึงยังไม่มีอุปกรณ์แรกที่ใช้ 10X
ฟีเจอร์เด่น: Start menu และ Taskbar ใหม่, Action Center ใหม่, File Explorer ใหม่, ปรับปรุงมากมายสำหรับ Dual-screen และ Portable devices
