Windows จัดการ Restore points อัตโนมัติ ลบจุดเก่าทิ้งเพื่อทำที่ว่างให้จุดใหม่ โดยจำกัดพื้นที่ 3-5% (สูงสุด 10 GB) ขึ้นกับขนาดฮาร์ดดิสก์
Restore points สร้างอัตโนมัติ ก่อนเหตุการณ์:
- ติดตั้งแอปพลิเคชันที่ "restore-compliant"
- ติดตั้ง Windows Update อัตโนมัติ
- ผู้ใช้เริ่ม System Restore เอง
สร้าง Shortcut ของ System Restore
ขั้นตอนสร้าง Desktop Shortcut สำหรับ System Protection ใน Windows 10:
- คลิกขวาหรือกดค้างที่พื้นที่ว่างบน Desktop
- จาก Context Menu คลิก New > Shortcut
- ในหน้าต่าง Create Shortcut คัดลอกตัวแปรสภาพแวดล้อมด้านล่าง วางในช่อง Type the location of this item
%windir%\System32\SystemPropertiesProtection.exe
- คลิก Next
- พิมพ์ System Protection (หรือชื่ออื่น) ในช่อง Type a name for this shortcut
- คลิก Finish
ตอนนี้สามารถ Pin ไป Taskbar หรือ Start Menu, เพิ่มใน All apps, Quick Launch, กำหนด Keyboard shortcut, หรือย้าย Shortcut ไปตำแหน่งที่สะดวก
