Load Hive อยู่ใน File menu - Load registry hive ต้องตั้งชื่อ เช่น Bloated ชื่อนี้แสดงใน address HKLM\Bloated
- เมื่อ bloated hive load เสร็จ Export เป็น file Registry Hive ชื่อ unique เช่น:
%windir%\system32\config\compressedhive
windir คือ Windows directory เช่น Windows folder ใน C drive ใช้ DIR command ตรวจสอบขนาด old และ new registry hive - Unload bloated registry hive จาก Registry Editor เลือก Bloated key ที่สร้างตอน load hive Unload Hive ใน File menu บางคนเจอ error "Access Denied" ขณะ unload ปิด registry editor แล้วเปิดใหม่ลองอีกครั้ง
- Boot ด้วย compressed hive ก่อนหน้านั้น rename registry hives เช่น:
c:\windows\system32\config\ren software software.old c:\windows\system32\config\ren compressedhive software
