แก้ไข "Windows Update cannot currently check for updates because updates are controlled" ใน Windows

ถ้าพยายามเปลี่ยนการตั้งค่า Windows Update หรืออัปเดตด้วยตนเอง แล้วเจอข้อความ Windows Update cannot currently check for updates because updates on this computer are controlled แสดงว่าคุณอยู่ในระบบที่ถูกจัดการ (Managed System) ที่ Administrator ควบคุมสิทธิ์ User ไม่สามารถเปลี่ยนการตั้งค่า Windows Update หรืออัปเดตด้วยตนเองได้ เพราะ Group Policy บล็อกไว้ เฉพาะ Administrator ของระบบเท่านั้นที่เปลี่ยนได้

Windows Update cannot currently check for updates because updates on this computer are controlled

ถ้าคุณเป็น Standard User ติดต่อ Administrator ของคุณ ถ้าคุณคือ Administrator ให้เปลี่ยนการตั้งค่าระบบด้วย:

1. Group Policy Editor
2. Registry Editor

1. ใช้ Group Policy Editor

1. กด Win + R พิมพ์ gpedit.msc กด Enter เปิด Group Policy Editor
2. ไปที่โฟลเดอร์:

   Computer Configuration > Administrative Templates > Windows Components > Windows Update

3. ด้านขวา หา Policy Configure Automatic Updates ดับเบิลคลิกเปิด Properties
4. เลือก Radio button Enabled
5. ใน Dropdown Configure automatic updating เลือก 5 – Allow local admin to choose
6. กด Apply > OK บันทึก รีสตาร์ทระบบ ควรแก้ปัญหาสำหรับ Non-admin Users

2. ใช้ Registry Editor

ถ้าใช้ Windows Home Edition และอยากเปลี่ยน Policy สำหรับ Non-admin Users บนเครื่องตัวเอง ใช้ Registry Editor:

1. กด Win + R พิมพ์ regedit กด Enter
2. ไปที่ Key:

   HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\Windows

3. หา Key WindowsUpdate ในโฟลเดอร์ Windows
4. ถ้าไม่มี WindowsUpdate Key ให้ คลิกขวา Windows Folder > New > Key ตั้งชื่อ WindowsUpdate
5. สร้าง Sub-key ใต้ WindowsUpdate ชื่อ AU
6. ค้าง AU Key คลิกขวาว่างขวา New > DWORD (32-bit) Value ตั้งชื่อ AUOptions
7. คลิกขวา AUOptions > Modify
8. เปลี่ยน Value data = 5 กด OK

Value Data 5 หมายถึง Policy Allow local admin to choose setting

รีสตาร์ทระบบ Non-admin Users จะอัปเดต Windows และเปลี่ยนตั้งค่า Windows Update ได้แล้ว
