แก้ไข: Windows 7 Cannot currently check for updates

Windows Updates เป็นส่วนสำคัญของ Windows OS ฟีเจอร์ Built-in ช่วย Microsoft Push อัปเดต Bugfixes และ Security Patches แม้ผู้ใช้จะเลือก Skip, Stop, หรือ Never Update ได้ แต่ไม่แนะนำ เพราะทำให้ระบบเสี่ยงต่อ Security Risks

เนื่องจาก Windows Update เป็นโปรแกรม Error จึงเป็นไปได้ หนึ่งในนั้นคือ ตอนรัน Windows Update Error ปรากฏว่า Windows Update cannot currently check for updates, because the service is not running. You may need to restart your computer สาเหตุอาจเป็น Windows Update Service ไม่เริ่มต้น หรือ Registry Entry เสียหายทำให้ Service ไม่พบ

แก้ไข: Windows 7 Cannot currently check for updates

วิธี 1: ซ่อมแซม Windows Update Service

เพื่อความสะดวก เราสร้าง Batch File ไว้ ให้ Stop Windows Update Service, ลบโฟลเดอร์ SoftwareDistribution, และเริ่ม Service ใหม่ windowsupdatefix.bat

  1. Right-click ลิงก์ windowsupdatefix.bat เลือก Save As บันทึกไฟล์ เปิดตำแหน่งไฟล์ Right-click ไฟล์ เลือก Run As Administrator
  2. หน้าต่าง Command Prompt สีดำจะขึ้นสองสามวินาที หลังหายไป ลองรัน Update อีกครั้ง

วิธี 2: รีเซ็ต Windows Update Settings

ปิดแล้วเปิด Windows Update ผ่าน Control Panel แก้ปัญหาได้หลายคน เพราะ Reset Settings ที่ Inconsistent ของ Windows Update กด Windows Key พิมพ์ Windows Update

  1. คลิก Windows Update ในผลค้นหา ในหน้าต่าง Windows Update คลิก Change Settings
  2. เลือก Never check for updates ใต้ Important Updates คลิก OK Close หน้าต่างทั้งหมดแก้ไข: Windows 7 Cannot currently check for updates
  3. ไปที่ Windows Update Settings อีกครั้ง เลือก Install updates automatically คลิก OK เช็ค Updates ใหม่

หากยัง Error อยู่ ไปวิธีต่อไป

วิธี 3: ปิด Antivirus และ Firewall ชั่วคราว

Antivirus แม้ Windows Security Essentials ก็อาจบล็อก Windows Update ให้ Disable Real-time Protection ของ Antivirus/Spyware ชั่วคราว แล้วเช็ค Updates ไม่ว่าจะได้ผลหรือไม่ ให้ Enable Protection ทั้งหมดกลับ

วิธี 4: ซ่อมแซม Windows Update Database

คลิก Start พิมพ์ cmd Right-click CMD เลือก Run As Administrator

ใน Command Prompt รันคำสั่ง:

net stop wuauserv
cd /d %windir%\SoftwareDistribution\DataStore\Logs
esentutl /mh ..\DataStore.edb | findstr /i /c:"State:"

หากแสดง State: Clean Shutdown ไม่ต้องทำต่อ Database เรียบร้อย

แก้ไข: Windows 7 Cannot currently check for updates

หากขั้นตอนล้มเหลว หรือไม่แสดง State: Clean Shutdown สร้างโฟลเดอร์ Temp ชื่อ "fixedfiles" พิมพ์คำสั่งใน Command Prompt:

mkdir c:\fixedfiles

เข้าถึงคอมพิวเตอร์ Windows อีกเครื่องที่ Updates ทำงานปกติ กด Windows Key + R พิมพ์ System32 กด Enter

ในโฟลเดอร์ System32 หาไฟล์ esent.dll วางในโฟลเดอร์ fixedfiles ของเครื่องที่ต้องการซ่อม

จากนั้นรันคำสั่งใน Command Prompt ของเครื่องเป้าหมาย:

copy %windir%\system32\esentutl.exe c:\fixedfiles\
c:\fixedfiles\esentutl.exe /r edb
net start wuauserv

Restart ระบบ รัน Windows Update เช็คว่าแก้ไขหรือยัง
