Reserved Storage เป็นฟีเจอร์ใน Windows 11/10 เป้าหมายหลักคือป้องกันไม่ให้ Windows ใช้พื้นที่จนหมดตอนดาวน์โหลด Windows Update ฟีเจอร์นี้ Enable โดย Windows 10 Setup เท่านั้น (ตอน Install ใหม่หรือ Reset) แต่ตอนนี้สามารถ Enable/Disable ได้เองด้วยคำสั่ง DISM ไม่ขึ้นกับ Setup Process
ตั้งแต่ Windows 10 v2004 (May 2020 Update) Microsoft เพิ่ม Options ใน DISM Command สำหรับจัดการ Reserved Storage
Disable/Enable Reserved Storage ด้วย DISM
วิธีใช้ Parameter ReservedStorageStat ใน DISM Command-line ผ่าน CMD หรือ PowerShell:
DISM (Deployment Image Servicing and Management) คือ Command-line Tool ใช้ Mount และ Service Windows Images แก้ปัญหาใน Running OS ได้
เปิด CMD หรือ PowerShell เป็น Admin
Enable Reserved Storage:
DISM.exe /Online /Set-ReservedStorageState /State:Enabled
Disable Reserved Storage:
DISM.exe /Online /Set-ReservedStorageState /State:Disabled
ตรวจสอบสถานะ:
DISM.exe /Online /Get-ReservedStorageState
การเปลี่ยนแปลงมีผลทันที แต่ Restart เพื่อยืนยันก็ได้
บางครั้งเจอ DISM Error 87 (Option ไม่มี) ให้รัน DISM ด้วย Cleanup-image Option ก่อน แล้วลองใหม่ Error ยังเกิดได้ถ้ามี Windows Update กำลังดาวน์โหลดอยู่
คำสั่งทำงานกับ Online Windows Images/Windows 10 PC เท่านั้น ไม่ทำงานกับ Offline Images จะ Error หาก Reserved Storage กำลังใช้งาน:
This operation is not supported when reserved storage is in use. Please wait for any servicing operations to complete and then try again later.
ยังสามารถ Enable Reserved Storage ผ่าน Registry และลดขนาดได้
หากรันบน Version อื่นนอกจาก v2004 จะ Error:
Error: 87. The set-reservedstoragestate option is unknown
Error นี้เกิดกับ Set-ReservedStorageState และ Get-ReservedStorageState
