- net stop wuauserv (หยุด Windows Update service)
- cd %Windir%\SoftwareDistribution (เปลี่ยนไปไดเรกทอรี SoftwareDistribution)

- เปิด Command Prompt แบบ Administrator
- หยุด BITS, Cryptographic, MSI Installer และ Windows Update Services พิมพ์คำสั่งทีละอัน กด Enter:
- net stop wuauserv
- net stop cryptSvc
- net stop bits
- net stop msiserver
- เปลี่ยนชื่อโฟลเดอร์ SoftwareDistribution และ Catroot2 พิมพ์คำสั่งใน Command Prompt กด Enter ทีละอัน:
- ren C:\Windows\SoftwareDistribution SoftwareDistribution.old
- ren C:\Windows\System32\catroot2 Catroot2.old
เริ่มบริการ BITS, Cryptographic, MSI Installer และ Windows Update Services อีกครั้ง พิมพ์คำสั่ง กด Enter ทีละอัน:
- net start wuauserv
- net start cryptSvc
- net start bits
- net start msiserver
พิมพ์ Exit ปิด Command Prompt รีสตาร์ทคอมพิวเตอร์ เสร็จแล้ว ครั้งหน้าตรวจสอบ Windows update จะดาวน์โหลดไฟล์อัปเดตใหม่จากเซิร์ฟเวอร์ Microsoft
