ทดสอบบน Slimbook Pro2 laptop, Kubuntu 18.04 ใน Linux มีสองวิธี: standard repos (free components only) หรือ full unrestricted version เพิ่ม VirtualBox repository ให้ access extensions (USB 2.0/3.0 connectivity) หาก sources configured แล้ว VirtualBox 6.0/6.1 ติดตั้งแยกจาก 5.X เวอร์ชันเก่ายัง support 32-bit hosts เวอร์ชันใหม่ 64-bit only (run 32-bit guests ได้)

แต่เห็น warning เรื่อง 3D acceleration กับ VM หนึ่งตอนทดสอบ 6.0 ว่า VboxVGA graphics control support feature จะ removed ในอนาคต (next minor release) layman terms: ไม่รู้หมายถึงอะไร - performance และ supported usage จะเป็นยังไง คาดว่า 3D acceleration ยัง available แค่ config change & Guest Additions update worst case

Nested Hardware Acceleration
ตัวเลือกน่าสนใจ: nested virtualization expose virtualization features ของ CPU (VT-x) ให้ VMs สร้าง setup hardware-enabled virtualization หลาย levels deep หนึ่งก้าวสู่ Matrix
ตอนนี้ทำงานกับ AMD processors เท่านั้น Slimbook ใช้ Intel feature grayed out สามารถ toggle ผ่าน terminal CLI แต่ option แล้ว show ใน system settings แต่ won't actually do much จะทำได้ดังนี้:

สรุป (Conclusion)
ไม่มีอะไว revolutionary ใน VirtualBox 6.X แต่ feel like solid, packed release full of goodies ทุก edition ได้ extra cool features ทำให้ useful/practical มากขึ้น free ใน home setup + versatile UI = go-to power tool สำหรับ advanced users และ software testers
คง old behavior/options ไม่ stress/drama ได้ new features Intel processor users จะได้ประโยชน์จาก nested hardware acceleration เร็วๆ นี้ (ดู VirtualBox 6.1 บน Slimbook ยังไม่) รวม VirtualBox 6 release = familiar workhorse with extra tricks Quite recommended.
