Bluetooth เทคโนโลยีไร้สายที่สร้าง Wireless Connection ระหว่าง 2 อุปกรณ์ มีประโยชน์มากกว่าที่คิด ในส่วนใหญ่คนใช้ Bluetooth เชื่อม Smartphone หรือ Computer กับ Audio Device เพื่อส่งเสียงไร้สาย
แต Bluetooth (ตอนนี้ Iteration ที่ 5 มีมาตั้งแต่ 1998) โตเต็มเป็น Universal Technology ค่อนข้างมาก นี่คือการใช้งาน Bluetooth ยอดเยี่ยมนอกเหนือจากส่งเสียงไร้สาย
1. Remote Controls
หลายปี Bluetooth กำลังดวลกับ IR (Infrared) Technology เก่าๆ ว่าเป็นหลักควบคุม TV, Music Systems ฯลฯ แม้ Bluetooth ไม่ได้เป็น Popular Most แต่มีข้อดี
First, Bluetooth เร็วกว่าและ Responsive กว่า Infrared Second, เรื่องชี้ Remote ให้ถูกส่วนของ TV (ที่อาจถูกบังโดยสิ่งรบกวน) ไม่ได้ Apply กับ Bluetooth เพราะไม่ต้อง Line of Sight
อีกด้านหนึ่ง Bluetooth แพงกว่าและกิน Battery มากกว่า Infrared จึงไม่เห็นทุกที่ แต่เป็น Luxury ที่ดี
2. Bluetooth Tethering
หลายเดือนก่อน ผมแปลกใจพบว่า Tether Smartphone กับ PC ด้วย Bluetooth ได้ (และ Cable ด้วย) หลายคนก็คงแปลกใจเช่นกัน Tethering คือการ Share Mobile Data หรือ Wi-Fi Connection ของ Smartphone ให้ Desktop PC หรือ Laptop
มักทำผ่าน Wi-Fi (Laptops) หรือ Cable (Desktops) แต่มี Option Bluetooth Connection ใน Menu เดียวกัน ใช้ Option นี้ Tether Smartphone ให้ Bluetooth-enabled PC – เฉพาะ Desktop PC ที่มี Bluetooth Radio Device ต่ออยู่ หาได้ง่ายบน Amazon
3. โอนไฟล์ระหว่าง 2 อุปกรณ์
คุณรู้แล้วว่าโอนไฟล์ระหว่าง 2 Smartphones ด้วย Bluetooth ได้ User โทรศัพท์เก่า (Dumbphone) แน่ๆ รู้ แต่คุณยังเชื่อม Smartphone กับ Bluetooth-enabled PC เพื่อ Exchange Files ได้ 2 Bluetooth PCs ก็เชื่อมกันโอนไฟล์ได้ อาจไม่เร็วเท่า Cable แต่เป็น Replacement ที่ดีตอนไม่มี Cable
4. เล่น Multiplayer Mobile Games ผ่าน Bluetooth
App Stores เป็ญ Multiplayer Games ผ่าน Internet Connection แตคุณรู้ไหมว่ามี Multiplayer Games เยอะที่เล่นผ่าน Bluetooth ได้? สนุกมากที่จะ 1-on-1 กับเพื่อนสนิทขณะอยู่ด้วยกัน แม้ถ้าเล่นผ่าน Network ปกติก็คงดีกว่า
หา Bluetooth Games ได้บน Play Store และ App Store – Titles บางตัวด้านล่าง – แตจำนวน Bluetooth Games กำลังลดลงเนื่องจาก Stability ดีกว่าของ Wi-Fi และ 5G
5. เชื่อมอุปกรณ์ต่างๆ
เพราะ Main Purpose ของ Bluetooth คือสร้าง Wireless Connection ระหว่าง 2 Devices มี Devices หลายตัวที่เชื่อมได้ด้วย Bluetooth
Devices รวมถึง:
- Mouse: Bluetooth Mice หลายตัวเชื่อมกับ PC, Tablet, Smartphone ได้ง่าย
- Keyboard: Bluetooth Keyboards สำหรับ Wireless Connection กับ PC, Tablet, Smartphone โซลูชันดีสำหรับ Physical Keyboard กับ Smartphone
- Printers: Wi-Fi Printers หลายตัวมี Bluetooth Connection พิมพ์ไร้สายตอนอยู่ใกล้ Printer
- Bluetooth Gamepads: Gamepads อย่าง PlayStation Controllers ใช้ Bluetooth เชื่อม Console ทำให้เชื่อม PC, Tablet, Smartphone ได้โดยตรง เล่นเกมที่รองรับ เช่น เชื่อม PS Controller กับ Android เล่น PSP Games
6. ควบคุม Smart Home Systems
Smart Home Devices หลายตัวมี Bluetooth Support ควบคุมไร้สาย Amazon Echo และ Google Home ใช้ Bluetooth เชื่อมโทรศัพท์ เพื่อควบคุม Connections, Skills, Routines ต่างๆ Smart Home Devices หลายตัวทำงานพื้นฐานเดียวกัน
ยังมี Home Security อย่าง Lock/Unlock ประตูด้วย Smartphone (ไม่ต้อง Key) Alarm Systems บางตัวมี Bluetooth Integration
7. Bluetooth และรถยนต์
Bluetooth และรถยนต์เข้ากันดี แต่นอกจาก Hands-free Calls แล้ว ทำอะไรได้อีกเยอะด้วย Device และ Setup ที่ถูกต้อง รวมถึง: ฟังเพลงจากโทรศัพท์ผ่านลำโพงรถ, อ่าน/พูดข้อความออกเสียง, Tether Smartphone กับ Navigation System รถ เพื่อ Live Updates ด้วย Mobile Data
