Protected Extensible Authentication Protocol หรือ PEAP เป็น Protocol เพิ่ม Layer ความปลอดภัยให้ Wireless LANs และ Point-to-Point Connections ด้วย PEAP Passwords Protocol นี้ใช้ได้กับองค์กรขนาดเล็ก-กลาง ออกแบบให้ Authentication ปลอดภัยกว่าสำหรับ 802.11 WLANs ที่รองรับ 802.1X Port Access Control
Weaknesses ใน 802.11 Wired Equivalent Privacy (WEP) ทำให้ Attacker Capture Encrypted Frames วิเคราะห์หา Encryption Key PEAP แก้ไขข้อบกพร่องของ 802.11 Security แต่ไม่เหมือน WPA/WEP ที่ใช้สำหรับ Home Wi-Fi PEAP ไม่มี Property จำ Network Credentials อัตโนมัติ
ทุกครั้งที่เชื่อม Network เดียวกันสำหรับ PEAP ต้องกรอกข้อมูลเพิ่ม: Username และ Domain พร้อม Password ทำทุกครั้งลำบาก นี่คือวิธีทำให้ Windows จำ PEAP Wi-Fi Network Authentication

คลิก Network Icon ใน System Tray เลือก Wi-Fi คลิกขวา Wi-Fi Access Point ที่เชื่อมต่ออยู่ จาก Context Menu เลือก View connection properties
ใน Wireless Network Properties Window คลิกแท็บ Security เลือก Advanced Settings
ในหน้าต่าง Advanced Settings คลิกแท็บแรก – 802.1x Tab ตรวจสอบว่า User Authentication เปิดอยู่ภายใต้ Specify Authentication Mode หากไม่ ให้เลือกจาก Dropdown แล้วกด Replace/Save credentials
ในหน้าต่าง Windows Security ใส่ Network Credentials บันทึกการตั้งค่า คุณจะถูกบังคับ Disconnect จาก Network หากเชื่อมต่ออยู่ 
ครั้งต่อไปที่เชื่อม Network Windows จะใช้ Credentials ที่บันทึกไว้ อัตโนมัติให้ Login ได้
