ตั้งค่า Distributed Scan Server บน Windows Server 2012 R2

Network Scanning เป็น Service ที่จัดการแบบ Centralized ได้น้อยมากแม้ใน Infra ขนาดใหญ่ Windows Server 2008 R2+ มี Role แยก: Distributed Scan Server (DSM) ช่วยลดความซับซ้อน Document Workflow และการประมวลผล Scanned Documents ใน AD Domain

Distributed Scan Server คืออะไร

Service ภายใต้ Print and Document Services Role รับ Scanned Documents จาก Network Scanners บันทึกลง Network Shared Folders บน File Servers/SharePoint Sites หรือส่งทาง SMTP ตาม Policies ที่ตั้งค่า

จัดการ Network Scanners ที่รองรับ WSD (Web Services on Devices) เป็น Single Point (TCP/IP หรือ Local USB Scanners ไม่รองรับ) โดยปกติ WSD Scanners คือ Enterprise-grade Devices

ติดตั้ง Role

  1. Server Manager → Add Roles → Print and Document Services → เลือก Print Server และ Distributed Scan Server
  2. PowerShell: Install-WindowsFeature -Name Print-Scan-Server -IncludeAllSubFeature → ต้อง Restart

หลังติดตั้ง จะมี Service ใหม่: Distributed Scan Server (ScanServer) → C:\Windows\System32\svchost.exe -k WSDScanServer

จัดการด้วย Scan Management Snap-in

MMC Snap-in: Scan Management — ScanManagement.msc จัดการ Scanners, Settings, Scan Tasks

3 Sections: Managed Scanners, Scan Processes, Scan Servers

Configure Local Scan Server

  1. Right-click Scan Servers → Configure local scan server
  2. ระบุ Account ที่ Scan Server จะ Run (เข้าถึง Local/Shared Folders) Default = LocalSystem แนะนำสร้าง Service Account แยกใน AD
  3. ระบุ Location และ Max Size ของ User Temporary Folders สำหรับ Scanned Documents
  4. ระบุ Email Server Address และ SSL Certificate (Self-Signed OK สำหรับ Test)
  5. เลือก Authentication Type: KerberOS/Client Certificates หรือ Anonymous
  6. หาก Enable Auth → ต้องเป็น Member ของ Scan Operators Local Group และมี Write Permission บน Computer Object ใน AD

Error 0x800706fc ตอน Config → ตรวจ Service Account, Default Scan Folder Path, Write Permission ให้ Account นั้น

Add Scan Server ใน Console

Right-click Scan Servers → Add a Scan server ใส่ Server Name (Self-Signed Cert ต้อง Match Name และพิมพ์ UPPERCASE) เพิ่ม Cert ใน Trusted Root Certificates

Discovery Scanners

  1. Turn on Network Discovery
  2. Start Device Association Service

Add Managed Scanners: Right-click Managed Scanners → Manage ใส่ IP/DNS Name ของ Scanner → ต้อง Enable WSD (Microsoft Services for Devices / Web Services Print) ใน Scanner

สร้าง Scan Process (PSP)

  1. Scan Processes → Add a Scan Process
  2. ตั้งชื่อ, Description, Scan Settings, Scan Server Name
  3. Document Prefix และ Save Location: Network Shares (UNC), SharePoint URLs, Email Addresses
  4. Select Users/Groups Allowed และ Permissions

AD Integration บน Scanner Side

ขึ้นอยู่กับ Vendor User ใช้ Password หรือ Smartcard Auth บน Scanner

DSM Operation Flow

  1. User Auth บน Scanner
  2. เลือก PSP ที่มีสิทธิ์ (ตาม Privileges) PSPs เก็บใน AD มี Scan Settings และ Document Routing Rules
  3. Scanner Scan Document → ส่งไป Server ประมวลผล
  4. Distributed Scan Server ประมวลผล Task → ส่ง Document ตาม Route ใน PSP

Scan/Task Logs อยู่บน DSM Server ตรวจสอบ Completed Tasks ได้ตลอด
