KMS Server ของตัวเองช่วยลดความซับซ้อนในการ Activate ผลิตภัณฑ์ Microsoft ในเครือข่ายองค์กร ไม่ต้องให้แต่ละเครื่องเข้าถึง Internet ไปที่ Activation Servers ของ Microsoft โครงสร้าง KMS เรียบง่าย น่าเชื่อถือ และขยายได้ง่าย (KMS Server เดียวให้บริการ Clients ได้หลายพันเครื่อง)
ติดตั้งและตั้งค่า Volume Activation Services Role
KMS ต้องการ Role แยก: Volume Activation Services ติดตั้งผ่าน Server Manager หรือ PowerShell:
Install-WindowsFeature -Name VolumeActivation -IncludeAllSubFeature
ใน Server Manager: Add Roles and Features Wizard → เลือก Volume Activation Services
หลังติดตั้งเสร็จ เริ่ม Volume Activation Tools Console → Wizard จะเริ่มขึ้น ระบุติดตั้ง Key Management Service (KMS)
หมายเหตุ หาก Windows OS ทั้งหมดที่ Activate ผ่าน KMS นี้อยู่ใน AD Domain เดียวกัน และใช้ Windows 8 / Server 2012 ขึ้นไป → ใช้ Active Directory Based Activation (ADBA) แทนได้
Account ที่ตั้งค่า KMS ต้องมีสิทธิ์ Enterprise Admin
รับ KMS Host Key
รับ Corporate KMS Key (KMS Host Key) จาก Microsoft Volume Licensing Service Center (https://www.microsoft.com/Licensing/servicecenter/home.aspx) ในส่วน Downloads and Keys → Windows Server → Windows Server 2012 R2 หา Key Type KMS (ไม่ใช่ MAK) คัดลอกใส่ Wizard
ระบบจะตรวจสอบ Key และเสนอ Activate 2 วิธี: โทรศัพท์ หรือ Internet (ให้ Internet ชั่วคราวเพื่อ Activate)
ตั้งค่า KMS Options
- Activation และ Renewal Intervals (ค่าเริ่มต้น Client Renew ทุก 7 วัน)
- Port (ค่าเริ่มต้น 1688)
- Windows Firewall Exceptions
- DNS Records – Publish: ติ๊กเพื่อสร้าง SRV Record _vlmcs._tcp อัตโนมัติ
- Publish to Custom DNS Zones: ระบุ Zone Names หากให้บริการ Cross-Domain
ตรวจสอบ Firewall Rule พอร์ต 1688: Get-NetFirewallRule -DisplayName *key*; Enable-NetFirewallRule -Name SPPSVC-In-TCP
ใช้ KMS สำหรับ Activate Volume-Licensed Systems
ตรวจสอบ DNS Record: nslookup -type=srv _vlmcs._tcp.corp.woshub.com
ดูสถานะ KMS: slmgr.vbs /dlv
สังเกต: Partial Product Key (5 ตัวท้าย), License status (ควรเป็น Licensed), Total requests received (0 เริ่มต้น)
Tip KMS มี Activation Threshold: Client OS (Vista/7/8/10) = 25 Clients, Server OS (2008/2012/2016) = 5 Servers ต้องมี Client เข้ามาเกิน Threshold ใน 30 วันล่าสุด KMS จึงจะ Activate ให้
ฝั่ง Client
- ใส่ Public KMS Key (GVLK):
slmgr /ipk xxxxx-xxxxx-xxxxx-xxxxx-xxxxx - ระบุ KMS Server หากไม่ได้ Publish DNS:
slmgr /skms kms-sr1.woshub.com:1688 - Activate:
slmgr /ato
KMS ที่ Activate ด้วย Key Windows Server 2012 R2 รองรับ Activate Windows จนถึง 8.1/2012 R2 สำหรับ Windows 10/2016 ต้องติดตั้ง Update เพิ่มบน KMS Host และ Activate ใหม่ด้วย Key ใหม่
