หน้าจอ 1366x768px ยื่นทแยง 13.3 นิ้ว responsive to touch bonus: เช็ดสะอาดด้วยผ้าชุบน้ำได้ ไม่เหมือนหน้าจอแล็ปท็อปส่วนใหญ่ที่เกลียดความชื้น สร้างมั่นคง aluminum casing สีเงิน brushed เล็กน้อยดู posh (หรือ posher?)

คิด dual-boot แต่จาก disk layout ข้างต้น ไม่ง่าย 500GB disk มาพร้อม recovery partitions 2 ส่วน EFI System partition และ OS squeezed ระหว่าง resizing ยากมาก image ยังไง? bootloader? GRUB จะทำให้ recovery messed up? จึงตัดสินใจ full disk destruction แต่มีหนึ่งสิ่งสำคัญต้องแก้ก่อน
Secure Boot!
ส่วนที่ทุกคน dreaded: ได้แล็ปท็อปแบบนี้ จัดการ potential problems กับ EFI partitions, Secure Boot ยังไง Vendor ต้อง allow Secure Boot control ใน BIOS/UEFI? Asus ทำได้ Enable/disable legacy boot และ Secure Boot ทั้งคู่ ระบบทำงานแบบเก่าหรือใหม่ ก็ตาม เพื่อความปลอดภัย ลอง Windows 8 ทั้ง 2 โหมด work fine ไม่มี issues screenshot ด้านล่าง illustration only
Linux attempts (การลอง Linux)
ลอง Linux ทั้ง 2 โหมด เพราะ recent versions ควรมี signed kernels และ bootloaders อนุญาต boot distros ด้วย Secure Boot on แต่ปัญหาไม่ได้มาจาก feature นี้
แทนที่จะเป็น Linux distros ต่างๆ cooperate อย่าง erratic Ubuntu Ringtail, Xubuntu Ringtail, Linux Mint Olivia Cinnamon **refused to boot past GRUB menu** ส่วน Kubuntu และ Olivia Xfce work fine ทั้งคู่ถึง desktop หลังคิดสักครู่ Fedora 19 KDE ไม่ work บน T61 test machine เลย ไม่ถึง launch bootloader Fedora consistent ในประสบการณ์ perverted way

หาก ignore Windows 8 นิดหน่อย Asus ทำงาน decent กับ ultrabook 13.3 นิ้ว เสนอ technology solid bunch ราคา reasonable OEM image modest ไม่มี crap และ spamware ที่บริษัทหลายแห่ง bundle Kudos Asus สำหรับผม friendly OEM edition ที่เห็นมาจนถึงตอนนี้ overall laptop 8/10 Windows 8 > 1/10 เป็น package overall not bad deal จะเก็บไว้แบบนี้ และวันหนึ่งอาจ enjoy Linux ได้ที่ควรจะเป็น We're done.
