ตัดสินใจ: simple และ lightweight tempted Ubuntu with Unity, Kubuntu Plasma, Cinnamon แต่ forgo performance games ไปกับ proven solution: **Xubuntu 12.04 latest LTS** impressed มาก แม้ Xubuntu Quetzal ดีกว่า แต่ lifespan สั้นเกินไปสำหรับความต้องการ มาดูผล

Tricky part: Lucid: 8.5 hours Wireless off screen dimmed Xubuntu Pangolin: 7.5 hours same conditions ต้อง bear in mind: machine older battery deteriorated หรือ tiny power snag ใน kernel eating ions 7.5 hours still respectable มากกว่า Windows 7 Starter promised/offered 3 ปีก่อน 2 ชั่วโมง
