โปรแกรมส่วนใหญ่ที่รันใน Windows Vista จะรันใน Windows 11/10 หรือ Windows 8/7 ได้ แต่หากพบว่าโปรแกรมยังไม่รันอย่างถูกต้อง ควรรัน Program Compatibility Troubleshooter ใน Windows 11/10/8/7

เข้าถึงได้ผ่าน Windows Settings Troubleshoot page หรือเปิด Control Panel > All Control Items จะเห็น Run programs made for previous versions of Windows ภายใต้ Programs & Features
คลิกเพื่อเปิด Windows Program Compatibility Troubleshooter
หากใช้บ่อย สร้าง Program Compatibility Troubleshooter desktop shortcut ได้
คลิก Next หรือ Advanced option หากไม่อยากให้ fix อัตโนมัติ Windows จะพยายาม detect โปรแกรมที่อาจมีปัญหา
เลือกโปรแกรมที่ต้องการ คลิก Next
Troubleshooter จะ analyze และแสดงรายการปัญหา
คลิก Next เพื่อแก้ไขปัญหา
Windows 11/10 หรือ Windows 8.1/7 จะพยายามแก้ไขปัญหา หรือเสนอทางเลือกอื่น
ด้วยวิธีนี้ สามารถระบุปัญหาและช่วยให้โปรแกรมเก่าทำงานได้ด้วย Compatibility Mode
