Genieo = Adware จาก Download Valley (Israel) ติดตั้งมาคู่กับโปรแกรมอื่น (Adobe Update, Freeware) โดยไม่แจ้งชัดเจน สร้าง "Newspaper Homepage" จากประวัติค้นหา แต่จริงๆ แล้ว
- ติด Omnibar Extension บน Firefox/Safari/Chrome → หักหลัง Homepage/Search
- โชว์โฆษณา Targeted เบนทุกที่
- ทนทาน: ลบ Extension/Uninstaller ไม่ได้ สร้างปัญหาเพิ่ม
- พบใน MRT.app (Apple Anti-malware) ติด BitCoinMiner/Genieo-FM → ซับซ้อนมาก
Manual Removal (ต้องเป็น Admin)
- Login Admin (Guest ไม่ได้)
- Quit Genieo: Dock → Right Click → Quit หรือ Menu Bar → Genieo → Quit Genieo
- ลบ
/private/etc/launchd.conf(หาใน Finder/Go to Folder) → อย่าลบ Trash Yet - ลบไฟล์ต่อไปนี้ (หาได้กี่ตัวลบกี่ตัว) → Move to Trash → เก็บ Trash ไว้:
/Applications/Genieo
/Applications/Uninstall Genieo
/Library/LaunchAgents/com.genieoinnovation.macextension.plist
/Library/LaunchAgents/com.genieoinnovation.macextension.client.plist
/Library/LaunchAgents/com.genieo.engine.plist

- Backup → Reboot → Login Admin อีกครั้ง
- ลบ
/Library/Frameworks/GenieoExtra.framework→ Empty Trash ตอนนี้ - Uninstall Omnibar Extension:
- Firefox: Tools → Add-ons → Extensions → Remove Omnibar
- Safari: Safari → Preferences → Extensions → Remove Omnibar
- Chrome: Menu → Tools → Extensions → Trash Omnibar
- Reset Homepage → เสร็จสิ้น
Reset Browser
- Firefox: Help → Troubleshooting → Reset Firefox
- Safari: Preferences → Privacy → Remove All Website Data → Remove Now
- Chrome: Settings → Advanced → Reset Settings → Restore Defaults
Freshmac Auto Method
- Download/Install Freshmac → Auto Scan
- Fix Safely → ลบ Issues
- ยังมี Genieo? → Uninstaller Tab → หาแอปน่าสงสัย → Fix Safely
- Temp & Startup Apps → ลบรายการซ้ำ/น่าสงสัย
