คุณสามารถจัดรูปแบบ (Reformat) MyBook External Hard Drive ที่เชื่อม USB บน Mac ได้
Western Digital ผลิต External Hard Drives ชื่อ MyBook แม้ MyBook จะทำงานกับ Mac และ PC ได้ แต่ Format เริ่มต้นรองรับ Windows เท่านั้น จึงต้อง Reformat MyBook ด้วย Disk Utility ก่อน จึงจะใช้กับ MacBook หรือ iMac ได้ Disk Utility มากับ Mac OS X ทุกเวอร์ชัน
ขั้นตอนที่ 1
เชื่อม Western Digital MyBook External Hard Drive กับ Mac ด้วย USB Cable ที่มาด้วย
ขั้นตอนที่ 2
คลิกไอคーン "Finder" บน Dock เปิดหน้าต่าง Finder ใหม่
ขั้นตอนที่ 3
ไปที่ส่วน "Applications" และเปิดโฟลเดอร์ "Utilities"
ขั้นตอนที่ 4
ดับเบิลคลิกไอคーン "Disk Utility"
ขั้นตอนที่ 5
Highlight ชื่อ MyBook External Hard Drive จากรายการด้านซ้าย ต้องเลือก Top Level ของ Drive ไม่ใช่ Partition ย่อย

ไปที่แท็บ "Partition" บนสุดหน้าต่าง
ขั้นตอนที่ 7
เปิด Drop-down Menu ใต้ "Volume Scheme" เลือก "1"
ขั้นตอนที่ 8
กดปุ่ม "Options" เลือก "GUID Partition Table" แล้ว "OK" หากใช้ Mac เก่าประเภท PowerPC Processor เลือก "Apple Partition Map" แทน
ขั้นตอนที่ 9
ใส่ชื่อใหม่สำหรับ Hard Drive และเลือก "Mac OS Extended (Journaled)" เป็น Format Type
ขั้นตอนที่ 10
คลิก "Apply" และ "Partition" เพื่อ Reformat MyBook External Hard Drive ให้ใช้กับ Mac ได้
