แก้ "An update is being prepared for your device, but it's not quite ready yet"

พยายามรัน Windows Update บน Laptop เก่าที่ยังไม่ได้อัปเดตนานๆ สำหรับอัปเดตหนึ่งขึ้นข้อความ:

An update is being prepared for your device, but it's not quite ready yet. We'll keep trying, or you can try again now.

มีปุ่ม Retry แต่ไม่ช่วย รอ 1 วัน Restart ลองใหม่ก็ไม่ได้ ในโพสต์นี้จะแนะนำวิธีแก้ไข

วิธีแก้ไขข้อผิดพลาด Windows Update นี้

Windows 10 Update Assistant ช่วยได้ แต่ลองวิธีอื่นๆ ด้วย:

1. ใช้ Windows 10 Update Assistant
2. Clear SoftwareDistribution folder & Catroot2 folder
3. Run Windows Update Troubleshooter
4. Delete Registry key เฉพาะ

1. ใช้ Windows 10 Update Assistant

Microsoft บางครั้งวางอัปเดตบนอุปกรณ์ที่ไม่เข้ากันได้กับ Feature Update หากคิดว่าเป็น False Positive แนะนำใช้ Update Assistant ดาวน์โหลด/ติดตั้งอัปเดตเหล่านี้ อาจเจอปัญหาเข้ากันไม่ได้ภายหลัง ต้องแก้ด้วยตนเองโดยอัปเดต Software/Driver

2. รัน Windows Update Troubleshooter

Windows 10 มี Troubleshooter สำหรับ Update แก้ปัญหาได้หลายอย่าง: Restart Services, ตั้งค่า Default, เปิด Features ที่ปิดไป

วิธีรัน:

• เปิด Settings (Win + I)
• ไป Update & Security > Troubleshoot
• เลือก Windows Update > Run the troubleshooter

Wizard จะแก้ไขอัตโนมัติ ตรวจสอบ Update อีกครั้งหลังเสร็จ

3. Clear SoftwareDistribution & Catroot2 Folder

Windows Update ดาวน์โหลดไฟล์เก็บในโฟลเดอร์เฉพาะ หากไฟล์เสียหายจะทำให้ค้าง ลองลบเนื้อหาใน SoftwareDistribution และ CatRoot2 แล้วดาวน์โหลดใหม่ (ดูคู่มือรายละเอียด)

4. ลบ Registry Key

Registry Key หนึ่งใน Microsoft Forums รายงานว่าช่วยได้ มาตรฐานหลาย Version แนะนำลบหลังสร้าง Restore Point

1. เปิด Registry Editor ไปที่: HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\WindowsUpdate\Auto Update\RequestedAppCategories
2. หา Key: 8B24B027-1DEE-BABB-9A95-3517DFB9C552
3. คลิกขวา Delete
4. Restart เครื่อง และ Check Update ใหม่
