System Restore ต่างจาก System Backup จับภาพ Resident Programs, Settings, Windows Registry เป็น Image Backup สิ่งที่จำเป็นเพื่อ Restore System Drive กลับไปจุดที่ต้องการ โดยค่าเริ่มต้น System Restore เปิดอยู่ในทุก Windows รวม 11 และ 10 แต่ User บางคนที่ Upgrade รายงานว่า System Restore ถูกปิด

เปิด System Restore ใน Windows 11/10
เช็ค System Restore: พิมพ์ Control Panel ใน Start Search Enter > คลิก System > ซ้ายมือ System protection > System Properties > แท็บ System Protection > Protection Settings
ให้ Protection = On สำหรับ System Drive
ถ้า Off: เลือก System Drive (C:) คลิก Configure จะเปิดกล่อง:
เลือก Turn on system protection คลิก Apply
เสร็จ! System Restore เปิดใช้งานใน Windows 11/10/8/7 แล้ว
ควร สร้าง System Restore Point ทันที เช็คว่าสร้างได้
Turn on System Protection สรอกหรือหายไป
ถ้า Turn on System Protection สรอก/หาย อาจถูก Admin ปิด System Restore
ใช้ Cmdlet Enable-ComputerRestore เปิด System Restore รันใน PowerShell Elevated:
PS C:\> Enable-ComputerRestore -Drive "C:\"
คำสั่งนี้เปิด System Restore บน C: Drive
หาก System Restore ไม่ทำงาน/Restore Points ไม่สร้างได้: WinX Menu > Run > services.msc เปิด Services Manager ให้ Volume Shadow Copy, Task Scheduler, Microsoft Software Shadow Copy Provider เป็น Running และ Automatic

เจอข้อความนี้หลังเปิด System Restore ต้องรู้ว่า:
System Protection ใช้ Reserved Space Backup File Versions ทุก Restore Point พื้นที่เต็ม = เวอร์ชันเก่าลบทิ้ง หาก Windows Backup เก็บ System Image Backups ไว้ Drive นี้ Image Backups ใหญ่ = Shadow Copies อื่นๆ จะถูกลบเร็วกว่าปกติ Windows เตือนไว้
กรณีนี้: ทิ้ง Reserved Space ไว้เหมือนเดิม (Shadow Copies จะลบเร็ว) หรือ เพิ่ม Reserved Space ให้ System Protection
