หากถอนติดตั้ง Microsoft Security Essentials (MSE) จาก Windows Server 2012/2012R2 ไม่ได้ แสดง Error 0x8004FF04: "Microsoft Security Essentials cannot be installed on your operating system. Your version of Windows in not supported by this program" ให้ทำตามขั้นตอนนี้
วิธีถอนติดตั้ง MSE และแก้ Error 0x8004FF04
- เปิด Control Panel → Programs and Features
- เลือก Microsoft Security Essentials คลิก Uninstall
- เมื่อปรากฏหน้าต่าง Error "MSE installation error" อย่าปิด กด Ctrl + Alt + Delete เปิด Task Manager
- ที่แท็บ Users คลิกขวาที่ Process Microsoft Security Essentials Client Setup เลือก Open file location
- คลิกขวา Setup.exe → Properties
- แท็บ Compatibility → ติ๊ก Run this program in compatibility mode for: Windows 7 → OK
- กด Win + R ลากไฟล์ Setup.exe ไปวางในกล่อง Run
- เลือกและ Copy (Ctrl + C) Full Path ของ Setup.exe จากกล่อง Run
- เปิด Command Prompt วาง (Ctrl + V) Path ที่คัดลอก
- เพิ่มต่อท้ายคำสั่ง: /disableoslimit /u (ไม่ต้องมีเครื่องหมายคำพูด) กด Enter
ตัวอย่าง: C:\Users\Administrator\AppData\Local\Temp\{...}\Setup.exe /disableoslimit /u - คลิก Uninstall ตามหน้าต่างเดิม ทำตามขั้นตอนต่อไปจนเสร็จสิ้น
