แก้ไข "We couldn't set your default save location" Error 0x80070005 ใน Windows 11/10

หากเปลี่ยนตำแหน่งบันทึก Apps ใหม่ของ Windows 11/10 ไม่ได้ แสดง Error We couldn't set your default save location บทความนี้จะช่วยแก้ไข แม้ Error นี้จะไม่ค่อยพบ แต่เกิดเมื่อ Settings เฉพาะไม่สอดคล้องกับที่ต้องการ

Error Message เต็ม:

We couldn't set your default save location.

The operation did not complete successfully. Try again in a bit.

The error code is 0x80070005, in case you need it.

Windows 10 อนุญาตติดตั้ง Apps ไป Partition/External Drive อื่น แต่ Option นั้น Gray Out หรือไม่ทำงานบางครั้ง หาก Settings ให้เลือก Drive แต่ Save ไม่ได้ Tips นี้จะช่วย

แก้ไข We couldn't set your default save location, Error 0x80070005

1. Login ด้วย Administrator Account
2. Rename WindowsApps Folder
3. Take Full Control Over WindowsApps Folder

1. Login ด้วย Administrator Account

เปลี่ยน Default Save Location ของ Apps เป็นงานของ Admin ต้องมี Admin Account หากคุณเป็น Standard User อาจเจอ Error ตอนเปลี่ยน Partition

วิธี: Enable Built-in Admin Account ทำการเปลี่ยน หรือ Upgrade Standard User เป็น Admin หากไม่อยากสร้าง Account ใหม่ ให้เลือกวิธีที่ 2

2. Rename WindowsApps Folder

ทุกครั้งที่ติดตั้ง Software ไม่ว่าจะจาก Microsoft Store หรือ Third-party จะเก็บไฟล์ไว้ WindowsApps Folder คือโฟลเดอร์ที่ติดตั้ง Windows Store Apps ซ่อนอยู่ จนกว่าจะเปิด Show Hidden Files

หากมี Internal Conflict กับ Folder นี้ จะเปลี่ยน Default Save Location ไม่ได้ เนื่องจากเจอ Error แล้ว ให้ Rename Folder ก่อน ลองเปลี่ยน Location ใหม่

Unhide Hidden Files/Folder ไปที่ C:\Program Files จะเห็น Folder WindowsApps

คลิกขวา > Rename > ตั้งชื่อ WindowsAppsOld

อาจโชว์ Error ตอน Rename หากเจอ "You don't currently have permission to access this folder" ต้องทำวิธีถัดไป

3. Get Full Control Over WindowsApps Folder

ตามที่กล่าว ได้ Access Denied ตอน Rename เพราะ Windows ไม่อนุญาต Access Folder นี้ แต่หากเปลี่ยน Permission ได้ Full Control จะเข้าถึงจาก Admin Account ได้ แต่จากมุมมอง Security ไม่ดี หากตัดสินใจทำ จะต้องย้อนกลับการเปลี่ยนแปลงภายหลัง

Default: Full Control ให้ TrustedInstaller เท่านั้น หากทำตามคู่มือรายละเอียด จะ Take Ownership ไฟล์/โฟลเดอร์ได้ แล้วค่อยเปลี่ยน Default Save Location ของ Apps

สิ่งอื่นที่ควรรู้:

• หากเลือก External Drive ให้แน่ใจว่า Working Condition
• หาก Windows ไมารู้จัก External Drive จะไม่ให้เลือก
