พบ Error แปลกตอนพยายามขยาย Partition บน Windows Server 2012 R2 เปิด Disk Management (diskmgmt.msc) ไม่แสดง Disk List Error: Unable to connect to Virtual Disk Service เชื่อมต่อ Remote ผ่าน Snap-in: Disk Management could not start Virtual Disk Service (VDS) on Host-Name ใช้ diskpart ก็ Error: Virtual Disk Service error: The service failed to initialize.
สาเหตุและวิธีแก้
VDS Service ใน Windows ตั้งค่า Startup Type = Manual (Start ตอนต้องการ) แต่ในกรณีนี้ Start ไม่ได้
- ตรวจสอบ Service Virtual Disk (vds) ใน services.msc → ไม่ได้ Run
- ลอง Start Manual:
net start vds→ Error:The service is not responding to the control function. (Error 2186) - Event Log:
A timeout (30000 ms) was reached while waiting for the Virtual Disk service to connect. Error 1053: The service did not respond to the start or control request in a timely fashion. - เปลี่ยน Startup Type จาก Manual เป็น Automatic → Restart Windows
- หลัง Restart VDS Start สำเร็จ Disk Management และ diskpart ทำงานปกติ
หากเชื่อมต่อ VDS Remote ไม่ได้
ตรวจสอบ Inbound Rules ใน Windows Firewall เปิด:
- Remote Volume Management — Virtual Disk Service (RPC)
- Remote Volume Management — Virtual Disk Service Loader (RPC)
เปิดผ่าน netsh:
netsh advfirewall firewall set rule group="Remote Volume Management" new enable=yes
netsh advfirewall firewall set rule group="Windows Firewall Remote Management" new enable=yes
netsh advfirewall firewall set rule group="remote administration" new enable=yes
หากยังไม่ได้
- ตรวจ Registry
HKLM\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\vdsให้ Group ALL APPLICATION PACKAGES มี Permission Read - ตรวจ System Files:
sfc /scannow
