แก้ Event ID 1098 Error 0xCAA5001C Token Broker Operation Failed Windows 10

Event 1098: Error 0xCAA5001C Token broker operation failed เกิดเมื่อ Login Windows 10 แล้วพยายามเข้าถึง Windows Store for Business แต่ Azure AD Authentication ล้มเหลว

สาเหตุ

ขาด Permissions หรือ Ownership attributes บน Registry Keys 2 ตัว:

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Classes\Local Settings\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\AppModel\SystemAppData\Microsoft.AAD.BrokerPlugin_cw5n1h2txyewy\PSR
HKEY_USERS\S-1-5-21-...\Software\Classes\Local Settings\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\AppModel\SystemAppData\Microsoft.AAD.BrokerPlugin_cw5n1h2txyewy\PSR

(SID ต้องตรงกับ Event ID 1098)

วิธีแก้ไข

  1. Take Ownership ของ Key (Owner = SYSTEM)
  2. Fix Permissions: Enable Inheritance บน Registry Keys ทั้ง 2 (Fix ตัวหนึ่งมักแก้ทั้งคู่)

ดูรูปตัวอย่าง: Inherited from field ต้องแสดง inheritance จาก HKEY_USERS\{SID}

ถ้าไม่ได้ผล: ใช้ Process Monitor ตรวจ ACCESS DENIED ใน Registry/File system อื่นที่อาจก่อให้เกิด Authentication Failure

อาจส่งผลต่อ Windows Store for Business และ Enterprise State Roaming
