ไม่สามารถบอกได้แน่ชัดว่าทำไม Update เฉพาะตัวไม่ Applicable แต่จะสรุปสาเหตุหลักและวิธีแก้

สาเหตุหลักของ Error "The update is not applicable to your computer"

Error นี้เกิดเมื่อติดตั้ง MSU Update ผ่าน wusa.exe (Windows Update Standalone Installer) สาเหตุที่เป็นไปได้:

  • เครื่องไม่ได้ Reboot นานหรือหลังติดตั้ง Updates ล่าสุด → Force Restart Windows
  • Update ไม่ตรงกับ OS Version, Edition, Build, Bitness (Architecture) หรือ Language (เช่น ติดตั้ง x86 บน x64) → ตรวจสอบและดาวน์โหลด Update ที่ตรงกัน (Language บางครั้ง System Language ต่างจาก UI Language)
  • Update นี้ หรือ Update ใหม่กว่าที่ Supersede ตัวนี้ ติดตั้งไปแล้ว → ตรวจสอบใน KB Page Microsoft: Package Details → This update has been replaced by the following updates ดู Installed Updates: wmic qfe list หรือ PowerShell Module PSWindowsUpdate
  • เครื่องไม่ Meet Requirements (เช่น Win7 ต้องมี SP1, Win8.1/2012 R2 ต้องมี Update 1) → อ่าน Requirements ใน KB Page ลง Update Prerequisite ก่อน
  • Windows Update Service ทำงานผิดปกติ → รัน Windows Update Agent Reset Script หรือ Windows Update Troubleshooter (Settings → Update & Security → Troubleshoot → Windows Update → Run the troubleshooter)
  • ไฟล์ .msu จาก Third-party เสียหาย → ดาวน์โหลดใหม่จาก Windows Update Catalog (https://www.catalog.update.microsoft.com)
  • ตรวจสอบ System Files Integrity: Dism.exe /Online /Cleanup-Image /Restorehealth หรือ sfc /scannow

วิธีติดตั้งแบบ Manual ผ่าน CAB + DISM

ลองแยก CAB จาก MSU แล้วติดตั้งด้วย DISM หรือ Add-WindowsPackage โดยตรง:

  1. Extract MSU: expand -f:* "C:\Temp\windows10.0-KB4103723-x64.msu" C:\Temp\KB4103723
  2. จะได้ CAB: Windows10.0-KB4103723-x64.cab
  3. ติดตั้ง CAB: DISM.exe /Online /Add-Package /PackagePath:c:\Temp\Windows10.0-KB4103723-x64.cab หรือ PowerShell: Add-WindowsPackage -Online -PackagePath "c:\Temp\Windows10.0-KB4103723-x64.cab"

กรณีเฉพาะของคุณ

ไม่จำเป็นต้องติดตั้ง KB4103723 ตรงๆ นี้เป็น Cumulative Update Windows 10 1607 x64 May 2018 สามารถติดตั้ง Cumulative Update ใหม่กว่าสำหรับ Version เดียวกันได้ เพราะรวม Update เก่าทั้งหมดอยู่แล้ว เช่น KB4480961 (January 2019)
