เทคโนโลยี Remote Control ไม่ใช่แนวคิดใหม่ มันมีประโยชน์มากในแผนก IT ขององค์กรหลายแห่ง เปลี่ยนวิธีให้บริการ Support ตอน End-user มีปัญหา Technician สามารถ Login เข้า Desktop ของ User ได้ง่าย แก้ปัญหาโดยไม่ต้องเดินทางจาก Workstation สะดวกกว่ายื่นมือถือแนะนำผ่านโทรศัพท์มาก
แต่มีด้านหนึ่งของ Remote Control ที่หลายคนไม่รู้จัก หรือคิดว่ายากเกินไป จึงถูกนำไปใช้น้อย คือ ความสามารถในการ Remote Control คอมพิวเตอร์ Out-of-band (คอมพิวเตอร์ที่ปิดอยู่หรือ Crash) ทำได้ผ่าน Intel Active Management Technology (AMT) บน Intel Core Processor รุ่นล่าสุด
วิธีตรวจสอบว่าคอมพิวเตอร์รองรับ Intel AMT หรือไม่
วิธีง่ายคือดูสติกเกอร์ Intel vPro บนเครื่อง ควรจะลักษณะแบบนี้:
ทางเลือก: รัน Intel Setup and Configuration Software (Intel SCS) รวบรวมข้อมูล Intel AMT และ Intel Management Engine (Intel ME)
ตรวจสอบจาก Device Manager ไปที่ System Devices ดู Firmware Version ของ Intel Management Engine
ไปที่เว็บ Intel อย่างเป็นทางการ เช็คข้อมูล Firmware เพิ่มเติม มี Firmware Version เฉพาะที่รองรับ AMT
ใน Device Manager ดูว่า Device มี Intel AMT Port หรือไม่
หากรองรับ AMT ขั้นตอนต่อไป: Config AMT จาก BIOS ทุกเครื่องส่งมาพร้อม Technology Disabled โดย Default
วิธีเปิดใช้งาน Intel AMT (How to Activate Intel AMT)
เปิด Intel ME Setup บน BIOS
วิธีแตกต่างกันตามเครื่อง บางเครื่อง Setup พร้อมใน BIOS Setup
บางเครื่อง ต้อง Enable Firmware Verbosity และ AMT Setup Prompt ใน BIOS Config ก่อน
หลังจากนั้น Restart PC ทันทีหลัง Prompt เข้า BIOS จะมี Prompt ให้กด CTRL+P เพื่อเข้า Intel ME Setup
หากไม่เห็นตัวเลือกเหล่านี้ เครื่องอาจไม่รองรับ Intel AMT
Login เข้า ME Setup
ใช้ admin เป็น Password Default แล้วสร้าง Password ใหม่ Password นี้จะใช้ยืนยัน Remote Controller ก่อนเข้าถึง PC
กฎสร้าง Password: อย่างน้อย 8 ตัวอักษร มีตัวใหญ่ ตัวเล็ก ตัวเลข และสัญลักษณ์อย่างน้อย 1 ตัว
Config AMT
เมนูหลัก เลือก Intel AMT Configuration ทำการเปลี่ยนแปลง:
1. Enable Manageability Feature Selection
2. เปิด SOL/IDER/KVM Section ให้ Enable ทั้ง 3 ตัว มี Section Legacy Redirection Mode ให้ Enable ด้วย บางเครื่อง KVM Config เป็น Section แยก
3. กลับไป AMT Configuration Menu เปิด User Consent คลิก User Opt-in เลือก None (Remote Controller เข้าถึงได้โดยไม่ต้องขอ Consent ทุกครั้ง) เปิด Opt-in Configurable from remote IT (Remote Computer สามารถแก้ User Opt-In ที่ตั้งได้)
เครื่องที่มี KVM Config เป็น Section แยก (ขั้นตอน 2) จะไม่มี User Consent Section ขั้นตอนนี้จะเป็นส่วนหนึ่งของ KVM Config
4. ไป Network Setup → Network Name Settings ตั้งชื่อคอมพิวเตอร์สำหรับ Remote Controller ระบุ (แนะนำใช้ชื่อคอมพิวเตอร์เดิมกัน DNS Conflict)
5. Activate Network Access ใต้ Network Setup Popup ถาม Continue กด Y (Yes)
เสร็จแล้ว กด Escape จนมี Prompt Exit กด Y (Yes)
วิธีเริ่ม Remote Connection ด้วย Intel AMT
Remote Computer ตั้งค่าเสร็จแล้ว ต้องมี Software บน Remote Controller ส่ง Request ผ่าน Intel AMT Software มาตรฐานส่วนใหญ่ขาด Feature นี้ แนะนำ 2 ตัว:
- Dameware (SolarWinds) – เหมาะสำหรับองค์กรที่มี Remote Computers มาก
- MeshCommander – ฟรี Open Source เหมาะใช้งานทั่วไป Intel มี Tool เอง (Management Command Tool) แต่ถูก MeshCommander แทนที่เร็วๆ นี้
วิธีใช้ Dameware สำหรับ Intel AMT Remote Connection
ติดตั้ง Dameware แล้ว Launch Mini Remote Control (MRC) เปิด Remote Connect Dialog ด้วยไอคอนบน MRC Taskbar
ใส่ IP Address Remote Computer Dameware Discover Remote Hosts ใน Network อัตโนมัติ แสดงใน Left Pane ไม่ต้องพิมพ์ IP เอง
เลือก Use Intel AMT KVM → Connect จะพรอมต์ Password ใช้ Password ที่ตั้งตอน Config AMT บน Remote Control เข้าสู่ระบบได้
สามารถทำ Remote Tasks ต่อได้
วิธีใช้ MeshCommander สำหรับ Intel AMT Remote Connection
ติดตั้ง MeshCommander Launch เลือก Add Computer ใส่ Friendly Name และ IP Address ใน Hostname Field Password ใช้ Password ตอน Login Intel ME Setup
กด OK → แท็บถัดไป กด Connect
หน้าต่างถัดไป คลิกแท็บ Remote Desktop → Connect ทำ Remote Control Tasks ได้แล้ว
หากเจอ Banner แดงแจ้ง Intel AMT Redirection Port หรือ KVM Feature Disabled คลิกที่มันเพื่อ Enable
ไม่ควรเป็นปัญหา เพราะเรา Enable Settings ใน Intel ME Setup แล้ว
