Windows Hello เป็นเทคโนโลยี Biometrics ให้ผู้ใช้ Login อุปกรณ์/แอปพลิเคชันอย่างปลอดภัยด้วย Fingerprint, Iris Scan, หรือ Facial Recognition แต่บางผู้ใช้เจอ Windows Hello Not Working หรือ Face Recognition หยุดทำงานหลังอัปเดต Windows 10 สาเหตุหลายอย่าง: Hardware Issues, System Corruption, Software Conflicts, Improper Settings, Drivers เก่า/เสีย/ไม่เข้ากัน นี่คือ Working Solutions แก้ Windows Hello Not Working บน Windows 10
วิธีเปิด Hello ใน Windows 10
เพื่อให้ Facial Recognition (Windows Hello) ทำงานบนอุปกรณ์ ต้องทำขั้นตอน:
- Win + I Settings → Accounts → Sign-in Options
- Under "Ways to sign in" จะมี 3 ตัวเลือก Windows Hello:
- เลือก Facial Recognition (Windows Hello) ตั้งค่า Sign-in ด้วย IR Camera ของ PC หรือ External IR Camera
Windows Hello Not Working
หากครั้งแรกเจอ Windows Hello Face Recognition ไม่ทำงาน แนะนำ Restart Computer → ตรวจสอบสถานะ
อาจต้องใช้ Administrator Account เพื่อทำขั้นตอนด้านล่างทั้งหมด
ติดตั้ง Windows Update ล่าสุด
หลายผู้ใช้รายงาน หลังติดตั้ง Windows Update ล่าสุด Windows Hello Errors ทั้งหมดหายไป นอกจากนี้ยังได้ Security Improvements และ Optimization
- Settings App (Start หรือ Win + I)
- Update & Security → Windows Update Tab → Check for Updates
- มี Update ใหม่ → Download and Install → Reboot PC
- ติดตั้งสำเร็จ → ใช้ Windows Hello ตามปกติ
Reset Facial Recognition และ Fingerprint Options
หากตั้งค่า Windows Hello ไว้แล้วแตหยุดทำงานหลังอัปเดต/เหตุผลอื่น Reset Facial Recognition และ Fingerprint Options อาจแก้ปัญหาได้
- Win + I Settings
- Accounts → Sign-in Options
- เลือก Windows Hello Face / Windows Hello Fingerprint (ขวา) → Remove
- คลิก Get Started → ตาม指示 Reset
- เสร็จ → Restart → ตรวจสอบ Windows Hello
ตั้งค่า Trusted Platform Module (TPM)
Trusted Platform Module (TPM) ให้ Hardware-based Security Functions TPM มีบทบาทสำคัญกับ Windows Hello หากปิดเพราะ Update, Windows Reset, หรือการดำเนินการใดๆ จะทำให้ Windows Hello ไม่ทำงาน กรณีนี้ ตรวจสอบ TPM และ Setup ให้เรียบร้อย
- Win + R พิมพ์ tpm.msc → OK
- เปิด TPM Management on Local Computer
- Action → Prepare the TPM → ตาม指示
- Restart Computer → ตรวจสอบ Windows Hello
ปรับแต่ง Windows Registry (Tweak Registry)
บางครั้ง Windows Hello Face Recognition ไม่ทำงานเพราะ Procedure ปิด PIN Login สำหรับ Domain User ถูก Reset ระหว่างกระบวนการ PIN Logon ต้อง Re-enable บน Windows 10 เพื่อใช้ Windows Hello ทำได้โดย Modify Registry
- Win + R พิมพ์ regedit → OK เปิด Registry Editor
- Navigate: Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\Windows\System
- ขวา Locate AllowDomainPINLogon → Double-click → Value Data = 1
หมายเหตุ: หากไม่มี Entry นี้ คลิกขวา Blank Space → New → DWORD (32-bit) Value → ชื่อ AllowDomainPINLogon
- เสร็จ → Reboot → ตรวจสอบ Windows Hello
อัปเดต Related Drivers
Windows Hello ทำงานขึ้นอยู่กับ Imaging Devices และ Biometric Devices (Fingerprint Sensors, Iris Scanners) หาก Drivers สำหรับอุปกรณ์เหล่านี้เก่า/มีปัญหา → Windows Hello ไม่ทำงาน ต้อง Update Drivers ที่เกี่ยวข้อง
- Win + X → Device Manager
- ขยาย "Imaging Devices" และ "Biometric Devices" (คลิกลูกศร)
- คลิกขวา Drivers แต่ละตัว → Uninstall Device → รอเสร็จ
- ปิดทั้งหมด → Reboot
- Device Manager → Action → Scan for Hardware Changes → ระบบ Detect/Reinstall Drivers อัตโนมัติ
Enable Biometrics ใน Group Policy Editor
มีโอกาส Biometric Feature ถูก Disable บนคอมพิวเตอร์ ทำให้ Windows Hello ไม่ทำงานหลังอัปเดต แก้โดยเปิด Group Policy Editor Enable Feature หมายเหตุ: Group Policy Editor มีเฉพาะ Windows 10 Pro และ Enterprise
- Win + R พิมพ์ gpedit.msc → OK เปิด Local Group Policy Editor
- Navigate: Administrative Templates → Windows Components → Biometrics → Double-click Allow the use of biometrics (ขวา)
- เลือก Enabled → Apply → OK
- ปิด Tool → Restart → Windows Hello ควรทำงานได้แล้ว
