แก้ Boot Loop "We couldn't complete the updates, Undoing changes" ใน Windows 10

Windows 10 OS ล่าสุดจาก Microsoft มีปัญหาเยอะเหมือน OS อื่นๆ ปัญหาที่พูดถึงคือ ระหว่างดาวน์โหลด Updates และ Restart กระบวนการ Update ค้าง Windows เริ่มไม่ได้ เหลือแค่ Error นี้:

หาก Login เข้า Windows ได้:

วิธีที่ 1: ลบ Software Distribution Folder

  1. Windows Key + X > Command Prompt (Admin)
  2. พิมพ์คำสั่งทีละอัน Enter: 
    net stop wuauserv
net stop bits
net stop cryptSvc
net stop msiserver
  3. ไป C:\Windows\SoftwareDistribution ลบไฟล์/โฟลเดอร์ทั้งหมดภายใน
  4. กลับ CMD พิมพ์: 
    net start wuauserv
net start cryptSvc
net start bits
net start msiserver
  5. Restart Computer
  6. ลองติดตั้ง Updates ใหม่ อาจสำเร็จครั้งนี้
  7. ยังมีปัญหา Restore PC ไปวันที่ก่อนดาวน์โหลด Updates

ทางเลือก: ไม่ว่าจะ Login ได้หรือไม่ ลอง Methods (c), (d), (e) ด้วย

วิธีที่ 2: ดาวน์โหลด Windows Update Troubleshooter

  1. Browser ไปหน้าดาวน์โหลด
  2. คลิก Download and run the Windows Update Troubleshooter
  3. ดับเบิลคลิกไฟล์ Run
  4. Next ให้ Troubleshooter รัน
  5. ทำตามคำแนะนำ
  6. เจอปัญหา คลิก Apply this fix
  7. ลองติดตั้ง Updates ใหม่ ไม่ควรเจอ We couldn't complete the updates, Undoing changes อีก

วิธีที่ 3: เปิด App Readiness

  1. Windows Key + R > services.msc > Enter
  2. หา App Readiness คลิกขวา > Properties
  3. Startup Type Automatic > Start
  4. Apply > OK ปิด services.msc
  5. Restart PC อาจ Fix couldn't complete the updates, Undoing changes

วิธีที่ 4: ปิด Automatic Updates

  1. Windows Key + R > services.msc > Enter
  2. หา Windows Update คลิกขวา > Properties
  3. Stop > Startup Type Disabled
  4. Apply > OK ปิด services.msc
  5. Restart PC ลองติดตั้ง Updates ใหม่

วิธีที่ 5: เพิ่มขนาด Windows System Reserved Partition

NOTE: ถ้าใช้ BitLocker ให้ Uninstall/Delete ก่อน

  1. เพิ่มขนาด Reserved Partition เองหรือใช้ Partition Manager Software
  2. Windows Key + X > Disk Management
  3. ต้องมี Unallocated Space หรือสร้างใหม่
  4. คลิกขวา Partition ใดๆ (ยกเว้น OS Partition) > Shrink Volume
  5. คลิกขวา Reserved Partition > Extend Volume
  6. Restart PC จะ Fix We couldn't complete the updates, Undoing changes

วิธีที่ 6: รัน Windows 10 Update Troubleshooter

แก้ We couldn't complete the updates issue ด้วย Windows Update Troubleshooter ใช้ไม่กี่นาที Detect & Fix อัตโนมัติ

  1. Windows Key + I > Settings > Update & Security
  2. เมนูซ้าย Troubleshoot
  3. Get Up and Running > Windows Update
  4. คลิก Run the troubleshooter
  5. ทำตามคำแนะนำ ดูว่า Fix We couldn't complete the updates Undoing changes ได้หรือไม่

วิธีที่ 7: ถ้าทุกอย่างล้มเหลว ติดตั้ง Updates แบบ Manual

  1. คลิกขวา This PC > Properties
  2. System Properties > เช็ค System Type 32-bit หรือ 64-bit
  3. Windows Key + I > Settings > Update & Security
  4. Windows Update > บันทึก KB Number ของ Update ที่ติดตั้งล้มเหลว
  5. เปิด IE หรือ Edge ไป Microsoft Update Catalog (Link ใช้ได้แค่ IE/Edge)
  6. Search KB Number
  7. คลิก Download Update ล่าสุดสำหรับ OS Type (32/64-bit)
  8. ดับเบิลคลิกไฟล์ติดตั้ง ตามคำแนะนำ

วิธีที่ 8: Miscellaneous Fixes

  1. รัน CCleaner แก้ Registry Issues
  2. สร้าง Admin Account ใหม่ ลองติดตั้ง Updates จากบัญชีนั้น
  3. รู้ว่า Update ไหนก่อปัญหา ดาวน์โหลดติดตั้ง Manual
  4. ลบ VPN Services ที่ติดตั้งอยู่
  5. ปิด Firewall และ Antivirus ลองติดตั้ง Updates ใหม่
  6. ไม่ได้ ทั้งหมด ดาวน์โหลด Windows ใหม่ ลองติดตั้ง Updates ใหม่

หาก Login ไม่ได้ ค้างใน Restart Loop

IMPORTANT: หลัง Login ได้แล้ว ให้ลอง Methods ข้างต้นทั้งหมด

Method (i): System Restore

  1. Restart Windows 10
  2. เข้ BIOS Setup ตั้ง Boot จาก CD/DVD
  3. ใส่ Windows 10 Bootable DVD Restart
  4. Prompt Press any key to boot from CD/DVD > กดปุ่มใดๆ
  5. Language Preferences > Next > Click Repair your computer ซ้ายล่าง
  6. Choose an Option > Troubleshoot
  7. Troubleshoot > Advanced Options
  8. Advanced Options > System Restore
  9. เลือก Restore Point ก่อน Update ปัจจุบัน Restore
  10. Windows Restart จะไม่เจอ We couldn't complete the updates, Undoing changes
  11. ลอง Method 1 แล้วติดตั้ง Latest Updates

Method (ii): ลบ Problematic Update Files

  1. Restart Windows 10
  2. BIOS Setup > Boot จาก CD/DVD
  3. ใส่ Windows 10 Bootable DVD Restart
  4. Press any key to boot from CD/DVD > กดปุ่มใดๆ
  5. Language > Next > Repair your computer ซ้ายล่าง
  6. Choose an Option > Troubleshoot
  7. Troubleshoot > Advanced Options
  8. Advanced Options > Command Prompt
  9. พิมพ์ใน CMD: 
    cd C:\Windows\
del C:\Windows\SoftwareDistribution*.* /s /q
  10. ปิด CMD Restart PC จะ Login Windows ได้ปกติ
  11. ลองติดตั้ง Update จะ Fix We couldn't complete the updates, Undoing changes

Method (iii): รัน SFC และ DISM

  1. เปิด Command Prompt at Boot
  2. พิมพ์: Sfc /scannow Enter
  3. รอ SFC (5-15 นาที)
  4. พิมพ์ตามลำดับ (สำคัญมาก): 
    a) Dism /Online /Cleanup-Image /CheckHealth
b) Dism /Online /Cleanup-Image /ScanHealth
c) Dism /Online /Cleanup-Image /StartComponentCleanup
d) DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth
    #WARNING: ไม่ใช่กระบวนการเร็ว Component Cleanup ใช้เวลาเกือบ 5 ชั่วโมง
  5. หลัง DISM รัน SFC /scannow อีกครั้ง เช็คว่าซ่อมหมดแล้ว
  6. Restart Computer ครั้งนี้ Updates ติดตั้งได้โดยไม่มีปัญหา

Method (iv): ปิด Secure Boot

  1. Restart PC
  2. เข้ BIOS Setup (กดปุ่มตอน Boot)
  3. หา Secure Boot Setting ถ้าเป็นไปได้ ตั้ง Enabled (อยู่ Security/Boot/Authentication Tab)
  4. Restart PC Update ติดตั้งสำเร็จโดยไม่มี Error We couldn't complete the updates, Undoing changes
  5. กลับไป Enable Secure Boot ใน BIOS อีกครั้ง

Method (v): ลบ System Reserved Partition

  1. Command Prompt พิมพ์: 
    bcdboot C:\Windows /s C:\
diskpart
list vol
select vol (Select System Volume)
act
list vol
select vol (Select System Reserved Volume)
inactive
exit
  2. Configure BCD: 
    bcdedit /set {bootmgr} device partition=C:
bcdedit /set {default} device partition=C:
bcdedit /set {default} osdevice partition=C:
  3. ก่อน Reboot ต้องมี Windows DVD หรือ WinPE/WinRE USB เผื่อ Boot Fail (สร้าง WinPE Bootable USB) หา Boot ไม่ได้ ใช้ Disk/WinPE Boot ที่ CMD พิมพ์: 
    bootrec /fixmbr
bootrec /fixboot
bootrec /rebuildbcd
  4. Reboot แล้ว ย้าย WinRE จาก System Reserved ไป System Partition
  5. Command Prompt: 
    diskpart
list vol
select vol 
assign let=R
reagentc /disable
rd R:\Recovery
robocopy C:\Windows\System32\Recovery\ R:\Recovery\WindowsRE\ WinRE.wim /copyall /dcopy:t
reagentc /setreimage /path C:\Recovery\WindowsRE
reagentc /enable
  6. อนาคต สร้าง Partition ใหม่ท้ายไดรฟ์ (หลัง OS Partition) เก็บ WinRE และ OSI Folder (ไฟล์จาก Windows 10 DVD) ต้องมีพื้นที่ว่าง ~100GB ตั้ง Partition ID Flag = 27 (0x27) ใน Diskpart เพื่อระบุว่า Recovery Partition
