หากค้นหาใน Outlook 2010 ไม่พบผลลัพธ์ หรือผลลัพธ์ไม่ถูกต้อง อาจเพราะ Indexing (การจัดทำดัชนี) ของไฟล์ข้อมูลเสียหายหรือไม่สมบูรณ์ Instant Search ใช้บริการ Indexing เพื่อค้นหาเร็ว ปัญหาอาจมาจาก Indexing ของ Outlook หรือ Windows Search

วิธีที่ 1: Troubleshooting และ Rebuild Index แบบง่าย
- เปิด Outlook > File > Options
- แท็บ Search (ซ้าย) > Indexing Options
- คลิก Advanced > Yes (UAC) > Troubleshoot search and indexing
- เลือกปัญหาที่เจอ (หรือ All) > Next > ทดสอบค้นหาใหม่
- หายังไม่ได้: จากเมนู Advanced คลิก Rebuild
- Rebuild ใช้เวลา 2-3 ชั่วโมง (ขึ้นกับขนาดข้อมูล) > รีสตาร์ท Outlook > ทดสอบ
วิธีที่ 2: Rebuild Outlook Search Index ด้วยตนเอง
- File > Options > Search > Indexing Options (เหมือนวิธีที่ 1)
- คลิก Modify > ยกเลิกติ๊ก สถานที่ที่ติ๊กอยู่ > OK > Close
- เปิด Indexing Options ใหม่ > ติ๊กสถานที่เดิมกลับ > OK
- รอ Rebuild จน見到 "Outlook has finished indexing all your items" > Restart Outlook > ทดสอบ
วิธีที่ 3: Rebuild Windows Indexing Service
- Win+R พิมพ์ appwiz.cpl > OK
- ซ้าย: Turn Windows features on or off > Yes (UAC)
- ยกเลิกติ๊ก Windows Search > Yes > OK
- รอ Windows ปรับเปลี่ยน > Restart คอมพิวเตอร์
- หลังรีสตาร์ท: เปิด Outlook ให้ Search reconfigure เอง > ปิด Outlook
- กลับไป Turn Windows features on or off (appwiz.cpl) > ติ๊ก Windows Search กลับ > รอ > Restart อีกครั้ง
- Control Panel > Indexing Options > Advanced > Yes (UAC)
- คลิก Rebuild > OK > รอจบ > Close
- รอ Outlook Indexing เสร็จ (File > Options > Search > Indexing Options จะแสดง "Indexing is complete") > Restart Outlook
วิธีที่ 4: ปิด Instant Search ชั่วคราว
- Indexing Options (จาก Outlook) > Modify
- ยกเลิกติ๊ก Microsoft Outlook > OK
- ตรวจสอบตำแหน่งไฟล์ข้อมูล Outlook (ลูกศรเล็ก) ยกเลิกติ๊กทั้งหมด
- ปิด/เปิด Outlook > ทดสอบ > หากไม่ได้ ให้ Enable กลับ (อย่าปล่อยให้ Excluded)
วิธีที่ 5: ตรวจสอบการตั้งค่า Indexing Options
- Indexing Options > Advanced > Yes (UAC)
- แท็บ File Types > ค้นหา .msg
- ติ๊ก .msg และเลือก Index Properties and File Contents > OK > Close
- ทดสอบค้นหาใน Outlook
วิธีที่ 6: ซ่อม Microsoft Outlook (Repair)
- Win+R > appwiz.cpl > OK
- หา Office/Outlook > Change > Repair > Continue
- รอซ่อมเสร็จ > ทดสอบ > หายังไม่ได้: Uninstall, Reinstall, และตั้งค่า Outlook ใหม่ทั้งหมด
