หากคุณไม่สามารถเปิดลิงก์ใน Windows Live Mail ได้ นั่นอาจเป็นเพราะการเชื่อมโยงโปรแกรม (program associations) สับสน คุณสามารถเปลี่ยนการเชื่อมโยงโปรแกรมเริ่มต้น (default programs associations) กลับคืนมาได้โดยทำตามขั้นตอนด้านล่าง
1. คลิกที่ปุ่ม Start และพิมพ์ Default Programs ในช่องค้นหา
2. จากรายการผลลัพธ์ เลือก Default Programs ควรจะอยู่บนสุดภายใต้ Programs หรือกด Enter หลังพิมพ์ default programs
3. จากหน้าจอที่เปิด เลือก "Set your default programs" จากภายใต้ "Choose the programs that windows uses by default"
4. จากนั้นเลือกเบราว์เซอร์ของคุณจากรายการ Internet Explorer และเลือก set this program as default แล้วคลิก OK
5. ในขั้นตอนนี้ เราต้องกลับไปที่ Default Programs อ้างอิงขั้นตอนที่ 1 และ 2
6. เลือกตัวเลือกที่ 4 ซึ่งคือ "Click on Set program access and computer defaults at the bottom" และ (คลิก Continue หากได้ User Account Control prompt) > เลือก Custom option > คลิกที่ลูกศรคู่ทางขวาของ Custom > เลือก default web browser เลือกเบราว์เซอร์เริ่มต้นของคุณ (น่าจะเป็น Internet Explorer) > ตรวจสอบว่ามีติ๊กถูกในกล่องถัดจาก Enable access to this program เลื่อนลงนิดหน่อยไปที่ Choose a default e-mail program > เลือก Use my current e-mail program > อีกครั้ง ตรวจสอบว่ามีติ๊กถูกในกล่องถัดจาก Enable access to this program แล้วเลื่อนลงสุดท้ายและคลิก OK
