ถ้าใช้ Gmail default style จะเห็นแท็บ Social และ Promotion บนสุด inbox
คลิกแต่ละแท็บ scroll ลงหา large volumes of duplicates
นี่คือผู้ก่อเหตุที่เติม inbox ทุกวัน
เจอแล้ว เปิดอีเมล หา link Unsubscribe ใกล้บนหรือล่าง
แค่หน้าแรกไม่กี่หน้า Social และ Promotion หา large groups of duplicates แค่ clean email newsletters ลด email เติม inbox ทุกวัน drastically

Unsubscribe จาก common emails แล้ว คลิก Select All icon บนสุด > "Select all conversations" link บนสุด
คลิก trash icon ลบทั้งหมด
ทำซ้ำ Promotions tab จบการลบทั้งหมด inbox ตัดลงไปกี่พันแล้ว
และเพิ่งเริ่มอุ่นเครื่อง
Backup และ Delete Labeled Emails
ปีก่อน ผมอยู่ทีมสืบสวนออนไลน์ สะสม emails หลายพัน ทุกอันมี Gmail label เฉพาะของ incoming linked email address
Address ปิด 2015 แตไม่เคยลบ emails เหล่านั้น
คุณน่าจะสร้าง labels หลากหลายปีก่อน อาจ automate ด้วย filters incoming emails ทั้งหมดแค่ยืนยืนยืน wasting space
ไม่ลบ labeled emails แบบ bulk ได้ เพราะ label ไว้เพื่อเหตุผล อาจมี research หลายปี หรือ historical archive งานที่ทำ ไม่อยากสูญเสีย
Back Up Important Labeled Emails
โชคดี backup ทั้งหมด bulk ได้ง่าย ด้วย Google account export feature
Google มี Download Your Data page ทุก service ใน Google account
คลิก Manage Archives > Create New Archive
เลื่อน accounts คลิก Select None deselect all
เลื่อน Gmail account คลิก switch enable service นั้นอย่างเดียว
คลิก dropdown arrow > Select labels
เลื่อน labels ที่สร้างใน Gmail เลือกทั้งหมดที่อยาก backup เต็ม
ใต้ list: เลือก compressed file format และ max archive size
คลิก Create Archive
Google อีเมลบอกเริ่ม archive อาจใช้หลายชั่วโมงหรือวัน ต่อมาจะได้ follow-up email พร้อม download link ในข้อความ
ดาวน์โหลดเซฟ archive ที่ปลอดภัย พร้อม wipe out labeled emails
Delete Labeled Emails และ Labels
กลับ Gmail inbox คลิกแต่ละ label ให้ emails แสดง > All จาก select list
จำได้ select all conversations เหมือนเดิม
คลิก trash icon ลบ emails ทั้งหมด
โชคดีจะเจอ labels พัน emails ทำความสะอาด inbox ตอนนี้มี backup
ลบ emails หมดแล้ว อย่าลืมลบ labels เก่า คลิก dropdown ขวา label name > Remove label
จุดนี้ inbox ลดขนาดลงมากแล้ว แตะยังไม่หยุด มี tricks อีก
Delete Old Emails
ถ้ามีสิบพัน emails โอกาสดีว่า emails ที่สำคัญ 4-5 ปีก่อน ไม่สำคัญแล้ว
ตอนนี้掘ลึก clean house ลบ old emails จริงๆ
พิมพ์ "older_than:2y" ใน Gmail search field เปลี่ยน 2 เป็น years ที่อยากเก็บได้
จำได้: volume ที่ "เก็บ" ต้อง sort ท้ายสุด ดึง important ones จริงๆ ทำ timeframe น้อยที่สุดที่สบายใจ
All emails > select all conversations > Trash icon เหมือนเดิม
หลังนี้ inbox สิบพันควรเหลือแค่ single thousands
จุดนี้: selective approach clean up remaining mess
